Are you a Miserablist?
I am. I probably wouldn't have gotten through life without sad novels and poetry, black leather, and - most importantly - melancholy pop. The stuff I love requires two things: clever, unforgettable pop hooks and melodies and lyrics that cut to the bone. Like "let me see you stripped down to the bone." Sorry if that's a copyright infringement, but - that's what I mean. So I made an album for other Miserablists. Or two albums: "Miserablism" and "Heathen Town" - which will be available by the time you read this, most likely. The songs on this widget are a mix of tracks from both. Even though there is no high-sheen studio gloss to be found here, if your tastes run in the same direction as mine, you'll love these songs. I made an album that I would like.
Are you a Miserablist? This site, and the wiki linked above, is a celebration of depression. People may say we wallow, but there's a lot of imagination and humor in our sensitivity to the pain of loss, the inevitability of death, the poetry of a red rose against a black and white background.
You know what I'm talking about. Add your favorite band or other artifact of gloom to the wiki.
